What does milk offer in skin care?
Milk, in its original state, has no effects on the skin. However, the milk base derived utilizing the special Lactique procedure contains a wealth of highly active skin rejuvenating substances in naturally balanced proportions. These are very effective in skin care formulations.
Milk is one of the only foods that contain all the important components necessary for human life. In the digestive system of the body, milk undergoes bacteriological, enzymatic and fermentative processes and is converted to hundreds of single components. These are then used throughout the body…and in particular in the largest human organ of all - THE SKIN. ...So early on milk “does the body good” from the INSIDE.
The effect from milk on the skin from the inside begins to diminish from the age of 30 upward, and the external strain on the skin from environmental influences increases and cannot totally be met from within. Lactique milk-based skin care products help to nourish the skin from the outside with similar active components obtained from the specially processed milk base.
Fermented milk is a natural biologically functional system and it offers skin care products many active compounds in a balanced form that cannot be combined in any other way. These do the following:
Is lactose intolerance a factor with these products?
No. The lactose in the milk base has all been converted to lactic acid in the manufacturing process. This coupled with the fact that it is not taken internally means there should be no problems.
What is the Shelf Life of these products?
We suggest use within 6 months after purchase, although we have found them to last much longer if kept sealed when not in use, and if used with a spatula. They are very stable and there is no danger of spoilage of the milk base due to the stringent processing parameters.
Are these products pH balanced for skin?
All these products help maintain the normal healthy pH mantel of the skin which is ideally around pH 5.5. It is also advantageous to use our creams, lotions and toners on the skin after cleansing with soaps that can dry the skin and raise the pH above the healthy range. These products help restore the pH level of the skin down into a healthy range of 5.0-5.5 pH.
